Express Entry Draw Results
The Express Entry system is important as part of the Canadian immigrations process where it selects skilled workers eligible for permanent residence. This system works by calling for appropriate candidates in a draw of the Express Entry pool and inviting them to apply for Canadian permanent residency. IRCC conducts approximately biweekly draws referred to as Express Entry. In these draws, people with the maximum CRS scores are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency. We advise you to bookmark this page to keep up-to-date on recent Express Entry draw results and immigration information.
Express Entry Programs
Express Entry is like a digital gateway managed by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to welcome skilled individuals to Canada. It’s not an immigration program on its own but a smart way for IRCC to handle applications from skilled workers aspiring to make Canada their home.
Here are the 4 key routes under Express Entry:
1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
The FSWP is designed for skilled workers with relevant work experience, education, language proficiency, and other essential factors. Individuals who demonstrate the potential to succeed in the Canadian economy are prioritized for selection.
2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
The FSTP is tailored specifically for skilled tradespeople, the FSTP caters to individuals with work experience in designated trades. Applicants must meet program requirements and demonstrate the ability to contribute to Canada’s labor market.
3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The CEC is aimed at individuals who have gained prior work experience in Canada. This program facilitates the transition from temporary to permanent residency for those who have established themselves within the Canadian workforce.
4. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
Certain provinces and territories in Canada have established agreements with the Federal Government to nominate candidates through Express Entry. These PNP streams align with specific regional labor market needs and priorities.
Express Entry Draw Formats
1. General Draws
Eligibility: Candidates eligible for any federal economic immigration program (FSWP, FSTP, CEC, and most PNP streams)
Selection: Selected based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
Benefits: Candidates with a high CRS score who want the flexibility to apply to any eligible program.
2. Program-Specific Draws
Eligibility: Candidates meeting specific program criteria (occupation, language requirements, work experience in a particular province/territory).
Selection: Invited for permanent residency based on their overall score, including CRS score and program-specific factors.
Benefits: Candidates who meet the specific requirements of a particular program and want to focus on that specific path to permanent residency.
How Express Entry Works
Create Your Express Entry Profile: The first step in your journey is to create an online profile. This profile will serve as your application to the Express Entry pool, where your eligibility and qualifications will be assessed.
IRCC Assessment and CRS Score: IRCC will evaluate your profile and assign you a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The CRS is a points-based system that considers factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills, and ties to Canada.
Invitation to Apply: Candidates with the highest CRS scores receive invitations to apply for permanent residence. These invitations are typically issued through regular draws, ensuring fairness and transparency in the selection process.
Benefits of Express Entry
For Candidates:
- Streamlined and predictable immigration process.
- Progress tracking to compare CRS scores with peers in the pool.
For the Canadian Government:
- Efficient and targeted immigration approach.
- Attraction of skilled workers vital for Canada’s economic growth.
